In the dealer's defense, GM has a little issue with software programming on non-NAV radios, esp on 2003 lux/non lux models. In a nutshell, you have to lie to the truck when you program the radio. Think of it as a combination lock with 8 different dials-any one of them incorrect will lock the system up.
