After we paint a vehicle, usually the first question is how long before waxing and what kind of wax.

Like the previous posters have mentioned, car wash soap can be used but only if you are looking to strip any wax off your vehicle. You don't have to buy expensive car wash soaps (some have wax built into it) You can go into some of these wholesale or tool places and you can buy it there.

Point is, use some sort of carwash soap.

Use a chamois to dry it off, don't grab a towel from your bathroom. The paint is basecoat/clearcoat. When clear is scratched, it leaves a white finish... using a bathroom towel will put minute scratches and swirls in the clearcoat. That's why sometimes (especially on a darker color) the paint looks "milky". It's the clearcoat that has millions of light scratches.
