I think what it is is that real beadlocks aren't DOT approved.

I don't see why you couldn't put them on if you wanted to. I seriously doubt the guy doing your inspection sticker would notice.

You only really need them if you run insanely low tire pressure though. Those Jeep guys run tire pressure in the single digits with bead locks.
