I don't think the visibility or lack thereof is a major issue. In reverse you just have to go a little bit slower constantly checking all four corners as you go, something you should be doing anyway. I end up backing into parking spots, in time you get the feel for judging distance with the mirrors... its a learning curve unnerving at firt but made easier if you have decent spacial judgement and practice. Driving this thing is not like driving any other vehicle and so initially it may feel a little ackward and out of your comfort zone. Its definately not a car... but I don't think it drives like a truck either... though it is much more like my F-150 than the camaro I had

. As long as you don't make sudden moves in traffic you will be fine with the blind spots... I usually let blinker click 3 or 4 times before I actually make the lane change... most other drivers are not idiots and you know when you are in someone elses blind spot... this gives them time to get out of the way. So all to recap... I think people blow it out of porportion. Your situation awareness will improve and you will build good driving habits to take with you when you drive other cars.
