I have a whole fleet of GM vehicles and they all have a feature called Max AC. This is the ONLY way to turn on the recirc in my vehicles. If you want the benefits of recirc but you don't want the A/C compressor on then just adjust the temperature dial. On your H3 turn your temp dial two or three clicks to the left and the compressor will switch off but the recirc light and feature will still be on. You'll find that if you have your recirc on and turn the dial all the way to the red, you're heater will be on in the recirc mode. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
ON my H3 the compressor run no matter which position the temp control is in...with the temp. control turned all the way to the left the compressor is still on...the only clicks to the left that will turn it off are the FAN...with the fan off the compressor turns off which in my H3 is the ONLY way to turn off the compressor in the recirc. mode...selecting outside air will turn the compressor off if the snowflake swith is off..but even with the amber light out(OFF) in the snowflake switch if it is in recirc. the compressor is on.
I have never owned a vechicle that would do this and I think it is unusual that it works that way...I am going to the dealer today and check out some other H3's and see if they do it...It may be the way it is suppose to work as some on here have said their's do it too.
A call to Shreveport may be next!
Thanks for everyones reply.
