Thanks for all the replies. I just got back from picking up my H3 at Lund. I guess they figured, if they weren’t able to fix my brand new truck, they would just dent the passenger door for me. UN-F-ING believable. I get there, they have it parked out front of the Service Department with the passenger door facing the bushes and tree. I thought the way it was parked was kinda strange. I did a walk around and sure enough, a dent in the door right under the mirror. I remained calm, as much as I wanted to smash this guys teeth on the curb. I’m sure it was an accident, but the fact that it happened, doesn’t make me too happy. When I pointed the dent out to him, he said, oh yea, aahh, I don’t know how that happened. He assured me when I bring my truck in a couple weeks for the SDM mod., they will fix the dent. In the mean time I am driving around in a new H3 with under 1000 miles on it, with a dent in the door and the airbag light on. Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy.
f5fstop, is there anything I can do to get the SDM here any sooner? Is there anyone to talk to about this, other than the dealer? </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
They released a vehicle without the airbag system working? That kind if liability if there was ever an accident is enough to close a dealer.
I would first call customer assistance and tell them the dealer released a vehicle that has an inoperative SIR system. Next, I would call the owner and, being the smart ass that I am, ask him how much insurance he has in case there is an accident and injuries that would have been prevented by an operating SIR system.
I would then take it immediately to another dealer and report this dealer to the BBB. I would also report them to the state's auto board.
Understand, most people who know me, would tell you I'm one nasty SOB. In fact, I would probably do the majority of these confrontations in an area with plenty of future purchasers in hearing range.
I would be polite, but sarcastic, no threats, just the facts, and let them be the asses in front of their future customers.
Just mentioning that they cannot fix the air bag system, and have no regard for your, or your families well-being would make me walk as a future customer. Don't forget to mention they admit damaging the vehicle while in service.
