Although my A/C has never had a problem cooling down my white 05 H2, the best A/C "mod" I have done is to tint the windows. I never turn down the air below 72 with the recerc "on".

George-If you cannot hear a difference when recirculate is on, there may be a problem. There is a audable difference when it is on.
