I wasn't too worried about the rattling. I was worried about the fact that the weight of our trucks, combined with the tiny cotter pin, results in a bad combination of the base possibly coming loose.

Different setups, but I've used those blocks of rubber from pickup tie down clamps to standoff the jack from the body. Just use extra long bolts , drop a rubber block over it and it works well.
