Unlike most of you guys with brand new H2s, I bought mine one year used but with 33,000 miles on it, so the original GM warranty was over after I drove it 3,000 more miles. I had enough foresight to get a 6 year extended warranty, but that does not cover leaks...something I really didn't expect to have happen. Murphy's Law I guess. :-( And there's the other old saying: "buyer be ware".
Anyway, I have been able to successfully "control" the leak by routing the water around the front door hinges and wiring harness boot. (I used a concoction of weather stripping that I picked up at the local hardware store.) For a more permanent fix though, I just need to figure out a way to get my hands in there to spread some silicone around the hinges and the rubber boot. Anyone have any suggestions??? Is it easy to take the door off the vehicle so that I have more room to work?
