The vehicle is not at fault in that one from all the pics I see...2 people are at fault:
1. the driver - The difference between Genius and Stupidity? Genius has limits...
2. the spotter(s) - they should have been in communication with him at all times, if he didn't roll down his window and he didn't have a CB (an offroading must have IMO) then they should have discussed it beforehand so he didn't get sideways.

I have spotted for several people and if they get in trouble or get so much as a scratch...I take it personally - every spotter should.

because with a decent spotter and a little attention they should be able to...they have the clearance, torque, balance.
