Odysseus is off the scale
Default Re: Where is the OnStar unit?

Yeah I see that whole "aluminum foil" name calling in threads from people who posted this before on this forum. Whatever. I don't see why anyone would have a problem with an owner wanting to simply disconnect it period if it was no longer subscribed and therefore used?

It's not an alien thing, no reason to go there. In fact I have looked into it and I am not going to take you to task (or turn this thread into a paranoia thread), but GM has had to admit some things about OnStar.

So like I could care less about that too really (I am using it now), but also I would like to know how to unplug it if I wanted to. In fact it seemed to take a stick to beat off OnStar from signing me up for their diagnostic program so they can pull info on my car when they want to.

Perhaps my will for privacy just makes me one of those old-school American types. To each his own.

Only reason for OnStar to track you is at your request, or the request of the police, and only then with a court order. (Are you wanted for something?)

For those who think that OnStar workers sit around all day long randomly searching for their customers should purchase some more aluminum foil. After all the aliens are looking for you.

edit= readability changes.
