I've got my tire, hi-lift, 2 jerry cans, shovel, axe, sea kayak and two rubbermaid bins full of heavy recovery equipment tied down to the rack. Had something similar on my Cherokee (much lighter vehicle) and never had any tipover issues. I wonder what 250# of crap on the roof of a 4,700# vehicle would do. You might lose some tipover angle, but I'm most concerned about getting rearended and spearing the car in front of me with a 60lb, 17' red thermoplastic dart
