I am guessing it is around 3 gallons but don't know for sure. I try not to wait until the warning comes on just from experience. The low fuel light on my Mountaineer was very unreliable and I actual ran out of gas going down a hill on the highway one time within 1/4 mile of it coming on. Luckily I was able to cost to an exit that was going up hill, get it started again and get to a station about a block down the road
