Test drive and listen for clunks in the driveline when you pull away, and clunks when turning sharp or reversing. While easily fixable, it will give you some indication of well the vehicles been cared for mechanically.

The H2 is cool and worry free if you don't drive it like like some of the nuts on this board.
Drive the damn thing and if it sounds like crap when you gag it or yank it then think about another one unless it's under warranty. It should be covered.
The H2 breaks just as often as regular GM trucks.
