F5 does go on vacations.
The air box was redesigned for the new engine; why, I have no idea. Never really care as long as everything works ok. It could have been redesigned for easier breathing or a noise problem. Those big resonator boxes on air inlets are to reduce pulsing noises caused by the pulsed airflow through the air box.
There were some complaints on the rear door closing resistance, so I will have to assume they are using a different rate on the rear door strut.
The 07 has an air pump.
If parts used on different years can be used on other years, it is noted in the parts catalog.
But to be honest, I do not have time to answer all these questions.
