I have the Thule and it doesn't swing down far enough to open the rear door! It almost needs a hitch extender to allow access into the rear compartment. But, this is on the factory receiver. An aftermarket one might stick out a bit farther. As for the class ratings, that is for towing capacity and a bike carrier doesn't even begin to touch what the class ratings are capable of handling.
