Hey Alan,
Yes you are correct and I've been pleased so far with the Coopers. We don't have much snow/ice here in Fl
but they have been great in the rain. On the way back from Tellico we hit heavy rain for quite a while and they were still extremely stable at 75-80 mph.
They ride great, my buddy even commented about the smooth ride. Road noise is more than the AT's but not bad and nothing the radio can't cure.
