H3 has 17:1 ratio. My reading says C/C have 19:1 ratio base. I bought factory service manuals for both marks and the R & P(and service) looks the same.

I didn't realize that the off road suspension package had tougher steering - I guess it's just the wider wheels making the difference. The H3 power steering pump has a slightly higher High Flow rate than colorado/canyon but the same pressure relief setting - so the pump doesn't seem to be a problem. Isn't the H3's wheels moved out farther on the frame than the colorado/canyon? Would you need longer tie rod ends?? I don't know the answer to your question, just throwing out some stuff.
