To strengthen the LS1 f-body rear ends when going to 4.11's many of us used the ratech solid pinion to replace the crush collar and a diff cover with bearing supports. The problem we saw was that after a few hard launches the crush collar would compress creating slop in the pinion and eventual failure.
The H3's 4.56 ratio pinions are pretty small and there is a large lateral force created especially when in the adv low range. Couple this with some slip-and-grips and the loads get pretty high. Not sure if the ratech solid spacer and diff cover would help with the H3.
