Hey, our Pomeranian has been doing that, too. Kind of like a snorting spasm until she catches her breath .. then she sort of tries to gag/cough up. Then she's ok. It's intermittent, not all of the time. I thought maybe she got into a dusty area because she likes to search out hidden areas in the house. (No dust in OUR house!
) If you find out what that's all about with yours, please post!
We had our 5lb'er spayed at about 10 months. We were worried, too, because she was hypoglycemic. I don't know if all very small dogs have hypoglycemic tendencies at that young age, or just Pomeranians. Either way, she came through the sugery just fine and was as feisty as ever by the same evening. Going through heat was very stressful for her (as it was for us!
