They'll be fine. Dogs kind of go into an acceptance of being in a temporary spot (boarding) while they are there. I know from boarding our little Pomeranian. We actually put her in a pet condo at the vet where she has her own room with Animal Planet on 24/7, and we can view her online 24/7.
LOL. She mopes around a little and sleeps most of the time. When we pick her up she is incredibly excited. Glad to hear Pea-Pie is back to her 'ol feisty self!
