I sell homes and have used this tactic a couple times when buying a few items in the past.
Just give the salesperson your bottom line and tell them that ithey are haveing a slow day or week and would like to make a sale that they should call you and you would come right over. Sure enough...within a few days the salesman usually needs a sale and makes the call. End of the month is usually a good tim for this tactic.
