Our dog loves dryer sheets! Downy with Febreeze.
She rubs her face in her bedding and falls right to sleep! Our dog is an indoor only dog .. litter box trained ... never set her feet outside. For awhile, even though her litter box is always near her, she would get 'angry' if we left for an hour, or, if we kept her in the living room and not let her have access to other parts of the house. Sooo, she'd wait until we walked into the living room, squat and look at us over her shoulder while she was 'going'. It could be either one .. #1 or #2.
The vet told us she was doing it out of anger .. she wanted us with her, or, she wanted the run of the house. She stopped doing it after about 2 weeks when we'd just ignore her bad behavior. I guess when we yelled at her, "bad dog!", she was getting the attention she had wanted. Maybe Stewie is upset that he is being placed in a crate for a couple of hours? Does he do this when he's OUT of the crate? Good luck!
