IT'S A FRIGGIN MIRACLE!!
I walked out to take it to the dealer's this A.M. and it had "healed itself"! Gone were the lights. The transfer case shifted without fail. The axle locked with alacrity. So, I guess all is well? 
I can't wait for this to happen when I REALLY need low range!
