The book says there are four "modes" and provides a sequence to access them. The modes are all regarding how the vehicle will provide feedback (or not) when you use the remote.... to wit:

1- flash parking lights on lock and unlock (default)
2- flash parking lights on lock and unlock, plus horn on lock
3- flash parking lights plus horn on lock and unlock
4- no flash or horn on lock and unlock

None of the modes is a remote disable. It looks like I need to visit the dealer and have him reprogram my remotes again...
