Read the warnings and packaging. The wireless one I bought (which I ended up returning for other reasons) said specifically "DO NOT WIRE THE CAMERA TO STAY ON ALL THE TIME. IT WILL OVERHEAT AND BURN UP". Don't know if it's true but beware.
