That is not unusual, and is a lot different than walking in cold, without a vehicle. However, I still say, it does not hurt to cover the last six digits (actual serial number) of the VIN with at least a business card (accidently thrown on the dash
).
Too many crooked people in this world, and it gets harder and harder to steal a vehicle due to passkey type systems that are BCM controlled. That is one reason why they say car/truck jackings are up. So, my opinion is, why take a chance.
