The little wart on the tri-mode antenna contains the XM and the Onstar GPS, and the little antenna sticking up from the wart is the cell antenna for Onstar.

Here's a Pic I took to night..excuse the color crappy camera..good one out for repair..
I guess this is what you mean... has the base..
Also now the alternator whine is back,
. I stopped for pizza..shut the rig down...and when restarted the whine showed up again only on XM..WTF is wrong. now.
