I then took it down the road in several different directions reaching 99mph until the govenor cut in. I did this 3 or 4 times and never heard the noise again until about 4 months later and it came back. Investigation revealed the mounting screws had only vibrated loose. These were tightened and everything was fine once again. If you ever get the noise stopped, don't forget to check them every so often because the mounting bolts will vibrate loose.
That is my story with marker lights. I love them and have absolutely no regrets.

Cool, I'm going to have to check and see if they are tight, because now I am getting the slapping sound at over 55 when the wind is blowing also.
