If you were considering purchasing the GM rails and assist steps, you would save a decent amount of $$ going with the RR rails if you can live with the unconventional step.
This was a factor in my choice because the bride prefers a step and I was not looking foward to removing the GM assist steps every time I went offroad.

My thoughts exactly, having a vertically challenged wife myself, something of a step would be convenient.
