I write Homeowners policies for Allstate in IL, from what I heard Allstate doesn't write any new homeowners policies right now in Florida. Thank all the people and their
Over-exorbitant storm claims, fraudulent claims and lawsuits because they didn't read their policies carefully to find what is covered and what is not.
So to protect new clients from a longer claim process and to unsure that when the time comes their claim can be covered and paid to the fullest and so that the companies dont face a similar fianancial hardship, a lot of insurance companies have pulled out of those areas temporarily till all the claims are paid out and the lawsuits are settled. For time being you will probably have find a broker to get homeowner insurance
