, there's going to be lots of stress on those in all directions and do you think 1/4" plate will have the strength to not bend out of alignment (ie left and right, not forward/backward). They look well built (I like the box design better than the standard H-pattern on other shackles). I dunno what other H3 shackles are using, but 3/8" seems extra beefy and wouldn't add too much weight. Just a thought...
