Default Re: Gonna Get My 3 Ready For The Off Road

Vet, I started selling Hummer when the H2 came out in summer 02. I had never off-roaded in my life. After going to the Hummer Training Camp in South Bend IN. I was hooked. I have been to 5 schools and 2 Natl. hummer events and learned so much. Some things you may want to concider is a video on off roading talking aobut off camber and aproach sugestions. Ask if the guides at the Hummer Happening if they are trail experienced and not just sales people. The stuff mentioned here is all needed at one time or another. Must have like Dan says, 2 rings for your strap (no wal mart) get straps and cleves that are rated so they last. The undercarrage protection is not a must have but is helpful. the rock rails are a must. a good air compressor (look for inflate times) no black and decker special. Never go alone, never take something risky without another truck there to pull you out and never go at night unless you know the area and have a friend. (walking out sucks) Get to know as many people as you can at the happing that want to go out like you. look for a local 4x4 group that is not brand spacific. I went out Saturday and the rush of 4 hours on the rail was like a drug. if you have any questions post or PM. The National Hummer Club is something worth checking into. all events are professionally staffed with guides and support from a dealer/GM/ AM General or both. www.thehummerclubinc.com i will be at Sadona AZ in may but that is probally way to far for you.
