(Someone correct me here if I'm wrong.)

Look at the new Z0-6.. compared to the LS 1 corvette. Most of the time it's a big Jump. I figure when the General figures in Body Mods ..Chassis Mods.. And Puter reprogramig and all the rest of the stuff that goes with a V8 your gonna pay at least 8-10K for the up grade.

That'll get yah 53 more ponies and a better diff and suspension and all rest of the minor mods. And at that point you become the Generals Test Mule for the first year.

What's gona fail on the first Alpha's..You'll be the Test Drivers for the rest of us.

Me gonna keep my 07 and and wait fo the 09 Improved Alpha..or ..may I'll wait till 2010..that has a better ring then 2009

Well, also as a vette owner, this is a little bit of a stretch......
The Z06 is far from just an upgraded motor. I don't have to tell you that the engine is hand-built and tuned for each car. The car uses Carbon Fiber panels and hood, the body is modified as is the suspension, interior, wheels, tires, exhaust, the list goes on and on....

A better comparison is to look at the Tahoe or Yukon to see how they handle upgrading the engine.

To be honest, for me, non of the suspension upgrades are of interest, I just want the V8. I would be happy to get a base H3 with an automatic, V8 and bigger tires/wheels.
