you need to have a tank to store the air. A compressor will not offer enough CFM to supply the horns. tHe tank stores the air and created enough CFM to the horns.

As for tapping into your factory compressor, I would stay clear from that. Even having your hose hooked up to your truck, as soon as you turn your igntion off, your bags will empty..sometimes it will take a few hours.
