The other day my brake pedal started making a 'creaking' sound when pressure was applied (BTW, the sound was definitely coming from the pedal area, not outside.) It sounded a lot like an old wooden floor and only made the sound when I applied pressure to it. The sounds started soon after some heavy city traffic, nothing really felt wrong with the braking system at all besides the creaking, and there were no warnings on the dash. The sound went away after some smooth highway driving and I have only noticed it slightly yesterday but it went away immediately.
Any ideas?

I think it could be the brake switch....mine did that, and then they replaced it when it finally died.
Problem was, my service 4 wheel drive light came on when it did finally go.I didn't know it at the time, but I had no brake lights
