The car was destroyed but the drivers compartment stayed intact, this is fine and dandy, but for a person to survive a sudden impact like that going from 0 to 70mph is extremely unlikely. Hell, some motorcylces are even bigger than some of these smaller cars. So forget about the savings and worry more about you and your family surviving an accident and walking away from it.
