It might not be a virus technically, but, if not, it's spyware. I had the same thing, and I managed it, but I don't think I ever killed it entirely. It kept happening. My IS guys at work worked on it three or four times, and it would get better. I'd run the Sophos stuff they loaded on it, and it would work fine, but then get progressively worse. Then I'd clean it up again, but never killed the core bad thingy on the system 32 doohicky. I tried other recommended anti-virus stuff as well. It never died entirely though.
