Nick, I see you are considering the auto which is what I have. Yes the better response of your Jeep (verus the H3) because of the lighter weight and stick will be noticable in daily driving. I think you will find you will need to use a heavier foot with the H3 to stay in the powerband, fortunately it's modern DOHC design responds well to this.
Consider renting an H3 for day from AVIS to see how it works in your everyday type of driving. And tach it out a few times to see how it runs near redline too.
