Default Re: trail duty trans pan

that pan is going to be very close to the exaust crossover pipe(will get hot ). the stock one is a Bit*h to get off and that pan would probabably require the exaust to be removed to service the trans filter. add to that the fact that an aluminum pan can crack on impact and dump the fluid and leave you stranded and it may not be any thing but a pretty face. you can take quite a shot on a steel pan and most times it will just get a dent. I for one a'm not sold on this whole deep aluminum pan at all. you should be fine with the stock pan and an over size trans cooler that bypasses the radiator. most shops tell you, you don't need to change the trans filter and they just flush the fluid. my answer to that is when they take a shower do they they put thier dirty underware back on ? any way I would check the clearance on that pan B4 I tryed to install it . It may very well make the fluid hotter and now you will have 2 quarts more of hot trans fluid . but what the fu*k do I know anyway ?
