Mine's fitted in on the floor in front of the drivers seat... was already dealer installed when I bought the truck it allows for the seat to go in its full forward position without (MrsJFF is kinda little, so needs to move the seat on the odd occasion she drives the truck) - was a real pain in the a$$ at first and I was gonna move it, kept kicking it every time I got in or out
... couldn't think of anywhere better to put it where I could get at it easily, so left it where it is... used to it now and it doesn't get a kick as often!!!
