I had this exact problem with my '99 Tahoe. I ended up getting the ignition replaced before it was fixed. I had to hammer on the dealer quite a bit, but they eventually gave in, even though I couldn't reproduce it at the shop. If a Chevy dealer will give in after a few times at it, a Hummer dealer should just say "Okay, No Problem".
Be careful, mine eventually got so out-of-whack it wasn't turning off the security and wouldn't start.
