This was covered on one of the major channels Sunday. It covered how that even if ride changed hands that when the batteries were changed it would go into a negative saving to reclain old batts. It also covered that actually it could become a negative just from how the electricity was produced.

Thge thought is of course to get off of oil. I do not see that happening has China is consuming coal faster than many countries combined which is a direction that the USA has been moving is coal. The tree huggers chased away the plans for nuclear power which I forget the list for countries that have pushed the USA to sign all kind of accords for clean air etc.
These countries under the radar have continued to expand nuclear power. I'm sure many here can expond on this better than I.

I just thought it interesting that mainstream was already for a chnage was thinking a little farther ahead than just one inch in front of their faces.
