neat question...I don't have all my facts in order tonight but i believe there was a federal case (legal) in which it is ILLEGAL to force you to only go to the dealer for work on a vehicle. I believe you can take a HUMMER or any other private mode of road transportation to any licenced repair shop to have work done...there may be a problem with a private person doing there own work and then later claiming a warranty problem but...
Maybe we have some lawyers on the forum that might better answer the question...I know for sure we have a lot of BULL CRAP MOUTH FLAPPERS who will put in their 2 cents worth of nothing and turn the thread into something that is totally off the subject...
