The lesson I take from that would be, in a similar situation, call the cops, report the burglary next door, tell them you're checking your own house; hang up (no matter what the dispatcher says); go outside; and shoot the batards.

I see nothing wrong with what he did, but his "I'm gonna kill'em" comment wont help his defense team.

I would never go on about how I need to shoot the bad guys rather than let them go, no matter how much I felt that way. Do - don't say.
