Don't leave your hitch in the receiver! I don't know about the liability laws in your state, but 3 years ago, a woman was walking out of the supermarket, hit her knee on my hitch, and my insurance company was held liable for 77K in damages!

I think your insurance company might have gotten off cheap...not that I'm an ambulance chaser.
I imagine the bill included some minor surgery, therapy, and whatnot.
Or loss of pay from work and.... You know, not being able to perform....
I never thought about the liability aspect and am going out to the garage now to take my fricken ball out of my receiver.
