Cool Re: Optimum PSI?

Tire pressues are almost a learning class in itself. Rule of thumb... Never go lower than what is recommened on the door/gas cap/glove box. Never go higher than what is recommended on the tire. Find a happy medium, the higher the pressure the better the fuel mileage. The lower the pressure the smoother the ride. Idealy if you put those tires that are rated 60psi with 60psi on a Ford Festiva it will bounce all over the road. Better keep those mudders on the Ford at 24psi, Thats what they recommend. Tire pressure is needed to hold a vehicle up therefore the more a vehicle weights the more pressure you should have. Thats why it is best to go by whats on the door because it reflects the weight of the vehicle no matter what the tire says.

By the way... my H2 recommends 45psi and thats what my tmps is looking for. I get an e-mail if my tire pressure is off..
