From what I have seen on the trail, it comes down to this: At the end of the day there are a few narrow places a jeep can go that a Hummer can't and there are a few places where the wider track Hummer can go where the jeep cant.
I will also go as far as this, when comparing stock suspensions of both - the H2 can support 37" tires and that capability alone puts it out front where a jeep will not be able to follow on severe terrain
