I wasn't really aiming that at your post, just thinking out loud on the overall subject. I think that most whites or at least some do feel guilty. I have felt guilty most of my life because that is what I was taught in school. Whites chained up blacks, threw them in boats and we whipped them to do work in the fields.
So I think that in some way that guilt has allowed whites to be very passive in racial pride, tolerant to criticism and somewhat submissive in politics and socially. You know?
Interesting point about the Union Troops. I guess the same could be said of all troops of any war. But I always understood it to be very passionate and our deadliest war- but I also learned that in school.
I did enjoy the coffee a little too much, I have been trying to sleep for hours.
