Sliding down the assembly line today, for the first time, was the all-new 2009 Hummer H3T midsize
truck. The H3T is being produced at the Shreveport, Louisiana assembly plant where its brother the H3
SUV is built. Shreveport also produces the
Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon midsize trucks. The H3T is based off of a combination of the Colorado/Canyon and H3 SUV. It is avialable only in
crew cab and contains a more "normal" sized truck bed. The same engines avaliable in the H3 SUV are avaliable in the H3T; the 3.7L Inline-5 and 5.3L V8. With news reports suggesting that the sale of the Hummber brand by
General Motors could be complete in early 2009, it may be safe to say this is the last GM-owned new Hummer product to start assembly.
Obviously you can expect to see the H3T at dealerships starting in 2-3 weeks.
